Laura Butler * (Lisette)
Laura's Oscar-qualifying film, Family On Board, recently went to the Cannes Film Festival and the New York City International Film Festival. She was also featured on the Emmy-Award-Winning HBO show, Boardwalk Empire, as well as the Coen Brothers' film Inside Llewyn Davis. She has performed with The Public Theater, The Human Race Theatre Company, The Cleveland Playhouse, The Wexner Center, and The Dorset Theatre Festival. Check her website for further updates: www.laurabutlernyc.com Brenda Currin * (Thelma Toole) Obie award winner (My Sister in This House by Wendy Kesselman), Brenda was most recently was seen as Beulah Binnings in Orpheus Descending, directed by Austin Pendleton in New York, and Jef Hall-Flavin in New Orleans. Also in New Orleans, she played Violet Venable in Southern Rep’s production of Suddenly Last Summer, directed by Aimée Hayes. Films: In Cold Blood (Nancy Clutter), The World According to Garp (Pooh), Reds, Taps, and cult classic C.H.U.D. Her many theater appearances in NYC and beyond include Mrs. Constable In the Summer House by Jane Bowles (Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival); and Mother in Doubtless by Albert Innaurato (59E59Theaters). Adapted along with director David Kaplan, Brenda performed their acclaimed June Recital and A Fire Was In My Head (adapted by Kaplan) based on Eudora Welty’s work in New York, throughout the country and in Europe. Brenda is proud of her association with Houses on the Moon with whom she helped gather the stories of transgender youth and was a storyteller herself in gUN COUNTRY which will have an Off-Broadway run in Spring 2017. She is thrilled to be part of Vivian Neuwirth’s wonderful new play as Thelma Toole herself. Todd starred in the feature film Wendell and the Lemon, which premiered at Slamdance Film Festival in 2015 and just recently showed at San Fran Indie Fest this month. He won the Best Actor Award for this role in NYC VisionFest in 2015. He also starred in the short film The Heart Wants What it Wants (dir. Paavo Hanninen), which premiered at the New Orleans Film Festival in 2014. He is from New Orleans and attended Syracuse University (B.A. Psych) and AADA (NY - 2000). Todd was Horace Wells in NUMB, an original piece created with his company, Goat in the Road. Todd was also Thomas in Southern Rep’s Venus in Fur, opening in New Orleans (first regional production) then touring to GEVA Theatre (Rochester). Todd just wrapped production of his first film as producer, Get Out Fast. The film was shot in and around Southern Louisiana and New Orleans and will premier in NYC in May. |
John Ingle * (Walker Percy)
John is returning to the stage after having worked in the investment banking field with a side trip working for the Metropolitan Opera costume department. One of the first actors trained in the Juilliard School’s Drama Division (Group 3), John has acted in New York in a variety of roles ranging from Petruchio in Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew to Slim in Sam Shepard’s Back Bog Beast Bait. As a member of the original TOSOS he appeared in Lanford Wilson’s The Madness of Lady Bright and created the role of Dave in Peter del Valle and Steven Sterner’s ground-breaking musical revue Lovers. When Lovers transferred to Off-Broadway, he played the role of Harry. As a member of the Lion Theater Company (Garland Wright/Gene Nye artistic directors) he created the role of Cole Younger in their production of Len Jenkin’s The Death and Life of Jesse James and appeared as Fedotik in their production of Chekov’s Three Sisters. In repertory at the Missouri Repertory Theater (now Kansas City Rep) John appeared as Barnardine in John Houseman’s production of Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure and their productions of Marat/Sade, She Stoops to Conquer, The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail and Camille. With Creede Repertory Theater he appeared as Charles Condomine in Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit, Paul Bratter in Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park, Thomas Cromwell in Robert Bolt’s A Man For All Seasons, Algernon Moncrieff in Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest and Monsieur Chandel in Feydeau’s The Happy Hunter. He appeared as Gatto in the independent film Hell’s Kitchen and toured Western Europe as Kent in the USO production of the musical Destry Rides Again.
